Embracing Dark Mofo

Dark Mofo in Hobart isn't just a festival. It's a celebration of the parts of ourselves we've been taught to hide, i.e., the wild, the quiet, the messy, the magical and what happens when we let them take up a little more space, standing around a fire in the middle of winter wearing too much black and making slightly questionable life choices is actually very good for the soul.

At Eye Am Hair, Dark Mofo has always felt like home. A celebration of self-expression, transformation, community, and the wonderfully weird. It's the season that inspired our own Submissive Salon experience, a place to slow down, surrender and simply be. While she's hibernating this year, we're already dreaming up her return for next year, and trust us, she'll be worth the wait.

In the meantime, we wanted to offer something a little softer.

June is the month of the solstice. The darkest days, the longest nights, and a gentle reminder that change doesn't always have to be dramatic. Sometimes it's a fresh fringe. A colour you've been talking yourself out of. A conversation with someone who really gets your hair.

So for the whole month of June, we're offering complimentary consultations with Harry, Meli, and Rachel, and because we're feeling particularly generous, we're also ditching the Saturday surcharge.

No pressure to book a service. No pressure to have your life together. Just come in, have a chat, and explore what's possible.

Use the code COLOURBYHARRY or EYEAMCONSULT when you book.

Dark Mofo asks us to embrace the dark, but we're also interested in what comes after it: the warmth of connection, the joy of reinvention, and the quiet magic of walking out of the salon feeling a little more like yourself.

Come by. Warm up. Let us make hair potions for you. Plot a hair transformation.

It's practically a Hobart winter ritual at this point.
