Two Years Upstairs: A Love Letter to a Very Weird and Wonderful Space
The true heart of the salon is the mural, painted by my dad, Geoff De Main, it became the centrepiece that informed everything else. The colour palette, the feeling of the rooms, and the overall theme all grew from his artwork. It's impossible to separate the upstairs space from the mural itself, and we're so proud of it that we'll be sharing a dedicated feature on its story and creation very soon.

At Eye Am Hair, Dark Mofo has always felt like home. A celebration of self-expression, transformation, community, and the wonderfully weird. It's the season that inspired our own Submissive Salon experience, a place to slow down, surrender and simply be. Why Your Scalp is the Secret to Great Hair
We often obsess over our hair strands while ignoring the very foundation they grow from: the scalp. At Eye Am Hair, we advocate for the "skinification" of hair, treating your scalp with the same importance as your facial skincare.
4 Things You Need to Know About Scalp Care
The Microbiome Matters: A healthy scalp microbiome is a non-negotiable prerequisite for hair longevity and density.
Anti-Ageing for Follicles: Professional treatments now focus on hydrating and soothing the scalp to protect against "ageing" follicles, which can lead to premature thinning.
The Double Cleanse: Just like your face, your hair benefits from a double cleanse. Start with a clarifying wash to remove product residue, followed by a scalp-specific treatment cleanser.
Exfoliation Rituals: Dead skin cells and excess sebum can literally suffocate hair follicles. Ask us about our all-natural scalp exfoliation services to clear the way for healthy growth.
Modern Insights for Scalp Health
Nutrients from Within: Scalp health is deeply connected to internal nutrition. Deficiencies in Zinc, Vitamin D, and Omega-3s are strongly linked to shedding and poor scalp condition.
The Power of Actives: Dermatological actives are now central in scalp care. Niacinamide helps calm inflammation, while Salicylic Acid supports gentle exfoliation and clarity.
Exfoliation is Weekly: Weekly scalp exfoliation is now considered essential for detoxifying the scalp and improving treatment absorption.
Longevity is the Goal: Modern scalp science is no longer just about growth — it’s about maintaining long-term follicle health and hair longevity for years to come.
Our Promise:
At Eye Am Hair, we focus on nurturing your scalp so your hair can truly thrive because great hair always starts at the root.
