About us:
We're a boutique salon team of 12 who are a little eccentric, up-to-date with the latest trends and open to alternative concepts of what hairdressing can be. Part of supporting our clients includes making them feel welcomed and providing them with an exceptional experience, and so this will be your point-of-difference, i.e. can you help people feel at ease, pick-up on client cues and thrive in an environment that is busy, yet calm?

More about the role:
In the role of Apprentice Hairdresser, you'll be trained in the salon in all things Eye Am Hair, from cutting curly and straight hair, to styling, to weddings, to colour and highlights. Over the years with us, you will start your training through assisting our expert hairdressers, and eventually having your own clients to work your magic on.
Your Responsibilities:
Assist senior stylists with various tasks, including washing hair, blow-drying, applying colour and foils.
Basic administration tasks such as answering the phone, emailing, checking our salon software and booking new clients in.
Greeting each client and making tea, coffee or a welcome drink.
Provide excellent customer service by attending to clients' needs and ensuring their comfort throughout their salon experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the salon, including sweeping hair, wiping down benches, general cleaning and organisation of equipment and workstations.
Continuously develop skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and educational courses.
Strong attention to detail and creativity
Love and passion for natural hair and/or embracing change.

Eye Am Hair was born as a result of founder and director Chelsea De Main’s love of hairdressing, distaste for conforming to the norm, and a desire to change how we can experience hairdressing and self-care. Eye Am Hair challenges the typical mainstream salon environments by rejecting non-essential standards for operation.
