Chelsea began her hairdressing career in 2001, and has practiced her craft around the world, in Greece, London, and Melbourne.

Inspired by her desire to create a space that shook up the traditional idea of a mainstream salon, Eye Am Hair and Nancy the copper caravan was born in 2018.

Chelsea is our OG curly girl, and she wanted to create an inclusive space for our beloved curly haired clients- a niche that was severely lacking in the hairdressing industry. Driven by her own experiences growing up as a curly girl, combined with her love of hairdressing and her bespoke caravan salon, Chelsea turned her specialty curly hair salon dreams into reality in October 2020 when Eye Am Curls and Rusty the iron clad caravan was launched.

Chelsea has hand picked her dream team and trained all the Curl Specialists in Curly Hair Cutting, Colouring and Styling Methods which she learnt at The Deva Curl Academy in New York and has adapted this methodology to create techniques that are customised to the individual resulting in textured hair mastery like you’ve never seen before.

Eli

Master Stylist / Specialising in Curly hair & Silver Transitions

Curly hair is where Eli’s heart truly lies. She specialises in curly cuts, colour, and all things curly hair education, with a passion for helping clients understand, embrace, and celebrate their natural texture. Whether you’re rediscovering your curls after years of styling them differently or learning to love them for the first time, Eli’s approach is patient, personalised, and empowering.

With 26 years in the industry and a special interest in holistic herbal haircare and scalp health, Eli is particularly passionate about supporting clients through the changes their hair and scalp can experience during perimenopause and menopause. She combines knowledge, care, and practical solutions to help clients navigate these transitions and feel confident in their hair at every stage of life.

Eli also has a deep appreciation for natural grey and silver hair journeys. She loves creating beautiful, seamless grow outs and supporting clients through every step of the transition, celebrating the individuality and beauty of their silver locks.

Beyond her technical expertise, Eli’s greatest gift is the warmth and care she brings to every appointment. She believes the salon can be a place of connection, self-expression, and renewal, a space where clients can rediscover their style, reinvent their look, or simply take time to reconnect with themselves. Creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment where every person feels seen, valued, and respected is at the heart of everything she does.

Outside the salon, Eli embraces a slower, more intentional way of living. She enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, art, community festivals, sustainable and low-tox living, op shopping, repairing, and recycling. She is also a proud mum to three children and shares her home with two dogs and two chickens.

Rachel

Master Stylist / Medical Hair loss, Wig & Extension Specialist / Handmade Custom Wig maker, Curl Specilaist

Rachel is behind Mr Walker’s Wiggery and our newest addition to the Eye Am Hair family. With over 35 years in hairdressing, including formal education and training in the craft, Rachel brings a rare blend of technical mastery, creativity, and heartfelt care to everything she does. Her journey has included owning the prestigious Perth salon Chilli Couture Pure Hair Indulgence and earning multiple industry awards along the way.

An exceptional all rounder, Rachel expertise spans across cutting, colour, styling, bridal hair, extension installation, and the specialised art of wig making. She is an extension specialist, highly skilled in mesh installations, handmade extensions, top closures, and sew-in methods, ensuring each service is tailored to suit the client’s needs perfectly.

What truly sets Rachel apart is her compassion. After supporting many clients through hair loss due to illness, alopecia, immune disorders, and life’s natural changes, she followed her curiosity (and her big heart) to New York, training one-on-one with world-leading wig makers and educators.

Luna, a highly skilled hairdresser with roots in Uruguay and a journey that led her from Spain to Australia. With over 16 years of experience, Luna has explored the diverse realms of Australian hairstyling, learning from eclectic salons, barbershops, and fashion environments across the country.

What sets Luna apart is her passion for helping clients embrace their true hair nature. She believes in making hairstyling both effective and enjoyable, always prioritising authenticity.

Luna's mission goes beyond the salon chair – she empowers clients with knowledge, teaching them to care for and style their hair with confidence. Step into Luna's world, where hairstyling is not just a profession but a pathway to self-expression and empowerment.

Ira

Expert Stylist /Razor Cutting, Curls & Colour Specialist

Ira is a highly skilled and passionate hairdresser with over 16 years of experience, seamlessly blending her love for nature with her artistry. Ira has honed her craft in high-end salons across Australia and Europe, drawing inspiration from natural textures, colors, and mystical elements.

Ira excels in creating a wide range of looks, from classic styles to creative cuts, and is known for her expertise in low-maintenance, natural hues as well as achieving bright, clean blondes. She has completed a Diploma of Sustainable Living at UTAS, demonstrating her deep commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

With her signature rose-gold peachy hues and an eco-conscious approach to hairdressing, Ira might just inspire you to embrace a touch of this unique shade while enjoying a personalised and innovative hair experience.

Harry

Elevated Stylist / Blondes & Colour Correction Specialist

Harry is a highly experienced and talented colour specialist who years of expertise to our salon floor. Having worked in some of the top salons across London and Melbourne, Harry has built a reputation for delivering stunning, personalised colour work that truly enhances your individual style. His calm, friendly approach will make you feel at ease in his chair, whether you're after a bold, high-impact transformation or a soft, subtle refresh. With a deep understanding of tone, technique, and what works best for you, Harry takes the time to listen, advise, and create results you’ll love. Harry is no stranger to Eye Am Hair, he’s a long time friend of the salon, having worked alongside both Chelsea and Charli in Melbourne over the years. After living and working abroad, he’s now back in Hobart and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board.

Meli

Advanced Stylist / Balayage, Blow Dry & Cutting Specialist

Meli is a passionate hairdresser from Colombia. Meli is currently upskilling and learning the Eye Am Hair techniques. Surrounded by scissors, brushes, keratin treatments, and foils from a young age, she always knew hairdressing was her true calling.

Her career began as a teenager in her parents’ salon, where she learned the fundamentals of colour, keratin smoothing, and precision cutting. She later went on to run her own successful salon in Colombia, an experience that not only refined her technical skills but also deepened her commitment to customer care.

Since moving to Australia three years ago, first settling in Brisbane and now based in Hobart. Meli has continued to share her love for hair, with a particular focus on supporting and enhancing beauty within the Latin community. She specialises in professional colour services, and tailored haircuts.

Dedicated to continuous growth, Meli is always seeking opportunities to learn and evolve, bringing passion and care to every client she works with.

Lola

Stylist

Lola is at the beginning of her hairdressing career and is thrilled to be starting here at Eye Am Hair. With a love for learning, she is passionate about her role as a salon assistant. Her goal is to become a warm and welcoming hairdresser who will help people achieve their dream hair! 

Lola has a wide palette of interests and some of her hobbies include rock climbing, guitar, pottery and all things beauty! But mostly she spends her time with her precious fur baby MaxMittens.

Kayleigh

Salon Assistant

Kayleigh has a love for self-expression through hair and fashion, which inspired her to begin her journey in the hair industry.

She loves creating a smooth, fun and warm experience for every client who visits the salon. Whether she's welcoming you at reception, assisting our stylists or ensuring your appointment runs seamlessly, Kayleigh is passionate about making every client feel comfortable and cared for from start to finish.

With a kind, easy-going, mindful and playful personality, Kayleigh brings a warm, calming energy to the salon. She believes that hair is a powerful form of self-expression, and she's inspired to help people feel comfortable and empowered to embrace their individuality.

For Kayleigh, the best part of the job is seeing clients leave feeling confident, relaxed and truly seen.

When she's not in the salon, you'll usually find her spending time in nature, creating, travelling or listening to music things that keep her inspired and bring her warm, mindful approach into everything she does.

Olly

Salon Assistant

She is just beginning her hairdressing journey but has seven years of experience as a qualified beauty therapist. Olly is ready to get creative and make your dreams come true, so get ready to be pampered!

Outside of the salon, Olly enjoys body modifications and tattoos, as well as reading, pottery, crochet, and all things crafty. Her one true love is her rescue greyhound, Fern. Olly lives a true gothic lifestyle, always adorned in silver hardware, black clothing, and chunky shoes, but don’t let that fool you—she’s a real softy under all that cool metal.

Charli

Operations Manager / Salon Educator

Meet Charli, our Operations Manager and Salon Educator, with over 21 years of experience in the hair industry.

Charli oversees the day-to-day operations of Eye Am Hair, ensuring both our team and clients receive the exceptional experience we're known for. She is passionate about mentoring and educating our stylists, sharing her extensive knowledge in cutting, client care, and salon systems to help the team grow and thrive. Her career has taken her from educating hairdressers in Melbourne to running her own successful freelance business and travelling internationally to share her expertise.

Outside of Eye Am Hair, Charli also runs her jewellery business, Kärlek Jewellery, where she channels her creativity into designing and crafting unique pieces.
