Chelsea De Main
Owner / Founder / Curl Educator / Razor Cutting Specialist
Chelsea began her hairdressing career in 2001, and has practiced her craft around the world, in Greece, London, and Melbourne.
Inspired by her desire to create a space that shook up the traditional idea of a mainstream salon, Eye Am Hair and Nancy the copper caravan was born in 2018.
Chelsea is our OG curly girl, and she wanted to create an inclusive space for our beloved curly haired clients- a niche that was severely lacking in the hairdressing industry. Driven by her own experiences growing up as a curly girl, combined with her love of hairdressing and her bespoke caravan salon, Chelsea turned her specialty curly hair salon dreams into reality in October 2020 when Eye Am Curls and Rusty the iron clad caravan was launched.
Chelsea has hand picked her dream team and trained all the Curl Specialists in Curly Hair Cutting, Colouring and Styling Methods which she learnt at The Deva Curl Academy in New York and has adapted this methodology to create techniques that are customised to the individual resulting in textured hair mastery like you’ve never seen before.
Eli
Expert Stylist / Team Leader
Meet Eli, a vibrant and creative hairdresser with a love of big hair, big lashes, and a host of eclectic interests including gardening, cross-stitch, and leopard print.
With 24 years in the industry, she began her apprenticeship in 2000, trained under top professionals, and has earned multiple awards. Her career highlights include working on magazine shoots and national competitions across Australia, and a decade spent in high-end salons in Hobart.
Eli is a true artisan in the world of hairdressing. Specialising in bespoke colours, haircuts, and styles, Eli is dedicated to making your salon experience unforgettable. With a keen eye for both classic elegance and creative flair, she ensures every client leaves feeling fabulous.
Eli is especially skilled in working with natural grey and silver grow-outs. She’ll guide you through every stage of embracing and enhancing your stunning silver locks, making sure you look your best throughout the journey and celebrating your natural beauty.
Above all, Eli is committed to providing exceptional comfort and a personalized experience for each client. She takes pride in fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Charli
Expert Stylist / Educator / Razor Cutting & Curl Specialist
Meet Charli, a dynamic and creative force in the world of hairstyling and jewellery. With over 19 years of experience, Charli’s expertise in cutting is both broad and deep. Her journey in hairdressing has taken her from being a hairdressing educator in Melbourne to running her own successful freelance business, and travelling the globe to share her skills with fellow hairdressers.
Charli is also the proud owner of Kärlek Jewellery, where her artistic flair extends beyond hairstyling into the realm of beautiful, handcrafted jewellery.
Charli values inclusivity and her calming and gentle nature ensures that every client feels comfortable and cherished, whether they prefer a quiet session, engaging conversation, or just a good book during their appointment. Known for creating stylish, lived-in haircuts that grow out gracefully and require minimal maintenance, Charli expertly works with all natural hair textures to help you achieve fabulous results at home.
Luna
Elevated Stylist / Razor Cutting & Curl Specialist
Luna, a skilled hairdresser with roots in Uruguay and a journey that led her from Spain to Australia. With over a decade of experience, Luna has explored the diverse realms of Australian hairstyling, learning from eclectic salons, barbershops, and fashion environments across the country.
What sets Luna apart is her passion for helping clients embrace their true hair nature. She believes in making hairstyling both effective and enjoyable, always prioritising authenticity.
Luna's mission goes beyond the salon chair – she empowers clients with knowledge, teaching them to care for and style their hair with confidence. Step into Luna's world, where hairstyling is not just a profession but a pathway to self-expression and empowerment.
Ira
Elevated Stylist / Curls & Colour Specialist
Ira is a skilled and passionate hairdresser with over a decade of experience, seamlessly blending her love for nature with her artistry. Ira has honed her craft in high-end salons across Australia and Europe, drawing inspiration from natural textures, colors, and mystical elements.
Ira excels in creating a wide range of looks, from classic styles to creative cuts, and is known for her expertise in low-maintenance, natural hues as well as achieving bright, clean blondes. She is currently completing a Diploma of Sustainable Living at UTAS, demonstrating her deep commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
With her signature rose-gold peachy hues and an eco-conscious approach to hairdressing, Ira might just inspire you to embrace a touch of this unique shade while enjoying a personalised and innovative hair experience.
Celeste
Advanced Stylist / Razor Cutting & Curl Specialist
Celeste is our musical songstress with a heart of gold… if you’ve met Celeste, you’ll know just how comfortable she makes you feel!
Celeste is a razor cutting, curl and colour specialist and will give you the shag, wolf cut or textured pixie cut of your dreams!
Her love for hair extends into her artistic vision and inspiration, and she's so grateful to be apart of a salon that gives full freedom to the spirit of originality and creative expression.
Lana
Advanced Stylist
Lana is the newest member of the Eye Am Hair dream team.
With over a decade of experience in the hairdressing industry, Lana is a fully qualified hairdresser and WELLA Master Colourist who’s no stranger to creative transformation. From her early training at HairHouse Warehouse through to senior stylist roles at TONI & GUY and The Cutting Crew, Lana has honed her craft with a focus on precision colouring, extensions, and delivering personalised service.
Lana is especially passionate about colour. She loves lived-in blondes but gets excited about all colour work. She’s thrilled to be back in the salon world and ready to explore new techniques, including learning the art of curly cutting with the Eye Am Hair crew.
When she’s not doing your hair, Lana is living the good life on her hobby farm in Pelverata, soaking up the peaceful vibes of country living. Her grounded nature and warm presence make her a perfect fit for our inclusive, down-to-earth salon family.
Olly
Emerging Hairdresser / Apprentice
Olly is the newest member of the Eye Am Hair dream team, joining as an apprentice hairdresser.
She is just beginning her hairdressing journey but has seven years of experience as a qualified beauty therapist. Olly is ready to get creative and make your dreams come true, so get ready to be pampered!
Outside of the salon, Olly enjoys body modifications and tattoos, as well as reading, pottery, crochet, and all things crafty. Her one true love is her rescue greyhound, Fern. Olly lives a true gothic lifestyle, always adorned in silver hardware, black clothing, and chunky shoes, but don’t let that fool you—she’s a real softy under all that cool metal.
Ella
Marketing & Social Media
Ella has been working at Eye Am Hair for 3 years and is our marketing guru and manager. Ella is passionate about natural hair care and beauty, and all for everyone embracing what they’ve got!
Being a curly girl, Ella has recently learnt to embrace and love her curls and is so excited to be working in a space that encourages natural beauty, where people walk out feeling amazing.
Ella is a lover of art, music, photography and yoga, and through her passion for photography and people, Ella has seen just how important it is to feel comfortable within your skin and fully love what you have got.
